A 1960's BRITISH FESTIVAL POSTER FULL OF TALENT

Jimi Hendrix Experience 1968 Woburn Music Festival British Concert Poster. An original paper advertising poster for the Woburn Music Festival in Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, England over the weekend of July 6 & 7, 1968. The talent brigade is undoubtedly led by the one & only Jimi Hendrix Experience, who was just about done recording his landmark Electric Ladyland album. Jimi had the primo time slot of closing Saturday night's show.

Other talent was abundant on this plum-colored poster as well, including the Peter Green-led Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Donovan, T-Rex with Marc Bolan, Taste with Rory Gallagher and Al Stewart. Notice that shows took place during the daytime as well as evenings, the true hallmark of a "festival."

This first-ever Heritage offering measures 19" x 28 3/8" and grades to Very Good condition. From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Poster had a 1 ½" horizontal tear on the left edge below "Sat.", and a same-sized tear in the purple on the right edge over from the "L" in "Festival." Both have been professionally addressed and made almost invisible. There was also some crumpling to the paper in the lower left corner, which has long since been flattened out.
