Grateful Dead 1970 People's Radio Benefit S.F. Concert Poster (AOR-2.171). An original red, yellow & blue concert poster advertising a benefit concert for "Air Waves People's Radio" held at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on Tuesday night, March 3, 1970. Scheduled to play were the Grateful Dead and several others. It appears the Dead did not perform, however, since this date is not given in the Dead databases of live shows. They did show up and perform the following year, however, on the same date in 1971. Notice the "1970" year is even given in the artwork (bottom center). More Information: Poster's upper left corner once had a 2 ½" curving tear, mostly thru the flower-like art in the corner, but it was mended a long time ago by an uncertain method. This poster's verso has visible tape residue (but not sticky at all) across the top border, which also shows just a tiny bit on the poster's front, on the very edge.
