Description

Robert Redford "Roy Hobbs" baseball jersey and trading card from The Natural. (TriStar Pictures, 1984) "Roy Hobbs" (Robert Redford) is a middle-aged rookie who displays a "natural" baseball talent to become the leagues' star while playing for the New York Knights. This is Redford's production-made, grey woolen baseball jersey featuring navy blue striping, orange and navy blue stitched felt "New York" text on the front and a large number "9" on the back. The right shoulder features a patch bearing a gold lightning bolt on a dark blue field and the left shoulder features "1839 - 1939 Baseball Centennial" red-white-and-blue patch. This is believed to be a prototype for the team's "away" jersey. Includes a "Roy Hobbs" baseball trading card featuring a color picture of Redford in character as "Hobbs" on the front and his 1939 statistics on the reverse. In very good condition.
