Arthur VHS 1981 - CGC Home Video 9.4 and Seal A+, Clamshell, Warner Tamper-Proof Foil Sticker Seal, Warner Home Video. Arthur, the 1981 comedy film directed by Steve Gordon, has had a heartwarming and enduring effect on fans of romantic comedies. Dudley Moore's endearing portrayal of the lovable and wealthy drunkard Arthur Bach, alongside Sir John Gielgud's Oscar-winning performance as his loyal butler, Hobson, has left an indelible mark. The film's timeless humor, touching romance, and memorable one-liners have solidified it as a classic in the genre, and fans continue to connect with its themes of love, responsibility, and the pursuit of happiness. The movie remains a beloved favorite, celebrated by fans for its ability to combine laughter and sentiment into an unforgettable cinematic experience.

This factory sealed 1981-dated copy of Arthur originally shipped from the manufacturer without shrink wrap, only a sticker seal on the side of the clamshell case. Some retailers would additionally apply shrink wrap to them to cut down on shelf wear and as a loss prevention measure. That is true of this copy. It comes to us as part of The Motor City Collection, CGC Home Video's first Pedigree. The Motor City Collection is especially remarkable due to the fact that original purchaser would typically write the date that the item was purchased on the price tag, sometimes along with the store name or the street that the store was located on. Based on the handwritten notes on the price tag, this tape was originally purchased on 9-23-86 at a K-Mart store in Michigan. It has received a grade of 9.4 by CGC, with a Seal grade of A+.

The Motor City Collection is CGC Home Video's first VHS pedigree. The gentleman who originally assembled this unbelievable collection had purchased items as far back as the 1970s and began with vinyl records. He would typically go out of his way to write the date of purchase on the price tags, as well as other identifiable info like a city, street, or store name. His collection was unknown to even his family until his passing. The majority of the items he'd purchased remained unopened in their original factory shrink wrap.
