"Starship U.S.S. Excelsior NX-2000" background filming miniature from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Original production made U.S.S. Excelsior model constructed of cast resin and vacuum formed plastic components over metal armature, expertly studio painted and finished with decals. With screen-printed "U.S.S. NCC-2000" (call lettering altered subsequent to production; appears in the film as "NX-2000") at top of saucer, and in decal at bottom. Outfitted with port at bottom of secondary hull for effects rig. Underside of secondary hull retaining "U.S.S. NCC-2000" decal. Resin and vacuum formed elements from back of secondary hull broken off, but all principal pieces are present and can be easily repaired. Connection between saucer and hull is loose. In production used good condition. Acquired directly from a member of the Star Trek art department.
