Walter Plunkett vintage original costume sketch of Clark Gable as "Rhett Butler" from Gone With the Wind. (MGM, 1939) A vintage piece of Walter Plunkett costume design from David O' Selznick's epic Gone With the Wind. Accomplished in pencil, ink and gouache on 11 x 22 in. artist board. Depicting the dashing Clark Gable as "Rhett Butler" in sleek black long coat, black knee boots with spurs, gloves and dramatic black cape. With details such as an elaborate frog neck closure and sweeping black hat. Typed paper snipe attached below image reads, "RHETT 'black, slouch hat low over his eyes, wild wind whipping his cape about him in snapping folds.' p. 796". Signed "Plunkett" under right side of image. With areas of mounting remnants around the border of the board, not affecting the art or text. With minor soiling and age. In vintage, very good condition.
