Original matte painting from The Three Musketeers. (MGM, 1952) Vintage color matte painting accomplished in colored pencil, pastels, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. artist board. Depicting an elaborate stone "Ext. Castle" for The Three Musketeers, starring Lana Turner and Gene Kelly. The bottom of the castle has been blacked out for post-production keying in of live-action footage. With handwritten technical specs, scenic notes throughout lower border. Marked as "not used". Exhibiting signs of production-use, tape and paper remnants in the lower border. Overall in vintage, good condition.
