Original matte painting from Green Dolphin Street. (MGM, 1947) Vintage black and white matte painting accomplished in pencil, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. artist board. Depicting "Ext. Island and Convent" from the historical drama Green Dolphin Street starring Van Heflin, Lana Turner and Donna Reed. An artfully atmospheric piece with the hyperrealism of a technical illustration. Featuring a large castle-like convent on a hill over looking the seaside village and the ocean. With space below the convent cliffs blacked-out for keying in of live-action and handwritten technical specs and scenic notes in edge borders. Exhibiting minor signs of production-use and some soiling. In vintage, good condition.
