Original matte painting from Ninotchka. (MGM, 1939) Vintage black and white matte painting accomplished in pencil, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 18 x 14 in. artist board tipped to masonite board. Depicting a nighttime cityscape on a river for the classic romantic comedy Ninotchka starring Greta Garbo. Meticulously detailed with a myriad of tiny white painted points of light to represent the city lights and their reflection on the river. With handwritten technical specs and scenic notes in the right border. Exhibiting signs of production-use and age. Overall in vintage, very good condition.
