Star Wars Ewoks Unreleased Chief Chirpa First Shot Prototype AFA 85 (Kenner, 1985). With the Star Wars brand waning in the wake of inroads made by G.I. Joe and Masters of the Universe into the Boys' toy category, Kenner management made the decision to cancel all Star Wars products in 1985. This left items that were very close to being released to the public in limbo, long after work on tooling and packaging had been finalized.
This unpainted first shot prototype of Chief Chirpa from Kenner's cancelled second series of Ewoks animated characters is of production quality. Very few examples of the figure have survived as most were discarded or destroyed.
The figure is cast in 2 different colors - brown for the head and torso and grey for the legs and arms. It is encased in acrylic, graded an AFA 85 NM+, and comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB).
This prototype figure represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of unreleased Star Wars toy history.
