Description

Batman (TCF TV, 1966-68), Burt Ward "Robin" Sleeveless Tunic and Cape. Vintage original tunic and cape from the smash hit television series, Batman. Worn by actor Burt Ward in his portrayal of Batman's ever-faithful sidekick, Robin, this red gabardine tunic features 12-white laces down the center front with a black and yellow felt "R" emblem affixed to left chest. The back features a full-length zipper as well as snap fasteners across the shoulders to affix a cape. The tunic's color has faded with age and has repair stitching on the arm holes. Also included is a collared yellow Lycra cape with hook and eye and button fastenings around the neck and interior Western Costume bias label. As with all costume pieces made for Adam West and Burt Ward during production, these suits started their lives as hero costume pieces, but were later demoted due to wear or assigned as needed to various stunt performers. Exhibits general production wear. Cape is missing hook clasp. Does not include black tights. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
