Description

Beatles Yesterday and Today Original "Butcher" Cover together with Trunk Cover, (1966). In an effort to separate themselves from the typical Beatles image and to express their views on the world that was going on around them in late 1960s, the Beatles opted to use this controversial photo for the cover of their LP Yesterday and Today. Capitol Records spent $250,000 to recall 750,000 copies of the original album. The Butcher album sleeve shows signs of age in the form of discoloration, and the trunk version has a small cut-out hole in the top right corner. The two album sleeves have been mounted (glued) and matted to a back board measuring 34" x 19". Two copies of the LP Yesterday and Today are included. Condition: EX-VG 6 (Butcher cover) and EX 7 (trunk cover. The discs are VG-EX 6 and EX 7.
