Description

Bad Brains 1989 Tacoma and Portland Concert Poster Signed by Designer Mike King. If it weren't for the Bad Brains, American hardcore would have been much different. Four skilled musicians well versed in rock and jazz started playing punk rock in wake of the Ramones and ended up influencing thousands of people, including the Beastie Boys, Minor Threat, and the Cro-Mags. They played punk at least double the speed of what was thought of as punk, morphing it into hardcore. Yet the band decided to also thrown in dub reggae, making for a very interesting blend of calm and chaos. At the time of these shows in Tacoma and Portland in 1989 with Tad and Sweaty Nipples, the band had released Quickness on SST Records, which blended funk and metal into their sound.

Poster measures 11" x 17". Offset printed. Signed in the bottom right corner by designer Mike King in pencil. In Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
