Description

Predator (TCF, 1987), Oversized Early Concept Art for Predator. Original oversized concept artwork for Predator, accomplished in pencil and artist's markers on 23.5" x 34.5" vellum. This early version of the hunter-creature features a radically different design-more insectoid than humanoid-offering a striking glimpse at an alternate visual direction for the now-iconic alien. Signed "Nikita Knatz 1985" at mid-right by the prolific illustrator who contributed to early Predator designs and worked on over 100 films, including Spider-Man (2002). Exhibits production wear, handling, and age, with heavy edge and corner wear and extensive loss along the edges. Artwork remains vibrant and highly detailed. Provenance: Profiles in History "Hollywood 2018" Auction, December 11, 2018. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
