Southfork Ranch "EWING" Mailbox from Dallas (CBS TV, 1978-1991) Southfork, Texas ranch, this is the mailbox that sat at the end of the drive of the affluent and constantly feuding "Ewing" family on the beloved series, Dallas. This is primetime television soap opera was one of the most popular of all time, with estimates of more than 300 million viewers tuning in to watch its notorious portrayals of wealth, sex, power struggles, and- season-ending cliffhangers. The show remains one of the longest lasting primetime television dramas in American history, with 357 episodes. This large U.S. Mail box is constructed of ribbed metal with hinged front door and red "flag" on one side. Both sides of the mailbox feature the EWING family name stenciled on in black paint. It sits atop a faux stone pedestal and mounted on a square plywood base. Measures 50.25" tall (45" tall from bottom of faux stone). The mailbox shows some sun fading from many days spent out in the Texas sun, light scuffs, and typical oxidation to be expected from exposure to the elements. The faux stone shows some chips, cracks and minor loss and it was repainted towards the end or after production. Plywood base has some edge wear and soiling from its many years of production use outside the ranch, but remains in very good vintage condition.
