The Fifth Element (Gaumont, 1997), Mangalore Costume with Mask & Hands. Original pieces including (1) full body costume consisting of jacket and trousers made of a thick gray faux suede with deep ridges covering the chest and legs. Suede cord accents are attached to the shoulders and hip with a chest panel and back armor made of molded plastic and foam rubber. The collar component is crafted of molded foam rubber. (1) full head mask crafted of foam latex painted in gray and purple tones measuring 13" and (1) pair of foam rubber hands painted in gray and purple tones. The costume has been fitted on a foam and steel armature measuring 65" for display purposes. The pieces exhibit production wear including cracking and aging on foam rubber components, in addition to discoloration and tearing overall. Boots are not included. Mask exhibits foam rubber cracking, paint loss and hardening. Latex hands exhibit tearing, paint loss, discoloration, and hardening. Obtained from Gaumont Film Company.
