Description

Fantasyland's Mad Tea Party/Dumbo Carousel Disneyland Attraction Poster (Walt Disney Productions, 1955). Nestled within the heart of Disneyland's most magical park, the original Mad Tea Party and Dumbo Carousel rides were created as tributes to the wonder and joy Disney hoped to bestow upon generations of visitors. First unveiled in 1955, the Mad Tea Party beckoned guests to embark on a delightful journey into a world where teacups twirl and laughter knows no bounds. Adjacent to the mirthful dance of teacups is the gracefully designed Dumbo Carousel ride. Originally built with the intention to represent the alcohol-induced "pink elephants" scene from the film, the elephants were pink upon installation and later painted grey after Disney's objections for fear of guests boarding a hallucination themed ride. Both attractions were original opening day rides, and captured the essence of Disneyland's original enchantment. Both attractions continue to enthrall and captivate visitors today. Measures 36" X 54". Disney artist Bjorn Aronson illustrated the image for this spectacularly rare park entrance advertisement which displays edge and corner wear, creases, a few minor scuffs, and subtle tearing to the top border. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
