Collection of Terry Southern's Smoking-Related Items. Vintage original group of items related to author Terry Southern's lifelong tobacco use, including (1) silver cigarette case used by Southern in 1951, measuring 4" x 2.5" closed and 5" x 4" open, (1) brown leather cigarette case with stamped front and filigree details, measuring 3" x 2.5" x 1", (5) tobacco pipes with wooden bowls, used between 1959-65, ranging from 5.5" to 7.5" long, (1) white ceramic French Cassis Quenot match holder with striker, used by Southern while living in Paris, measuring 4" tall and 4" in diameter, and (1) brass sealing stamp measuring 3.75" tall with an inlaid satyr design on top. Also included are (33) "Blackberry River Farm / Southern & Son, Props" stickers, each measuring 2.5" x 1.5", (37) Wills's Cigarette cards featuring British pub illustrations with descriptive text on the reverse, and (1) brass snuff spoon with a hand-carved bone container and inlaid design (spoon measures 2.5" long, case 2.5" x 1.5" x 1"). All items exhibit age, use, and fading, with tobacco remnants remaining in the pipe bowls. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the Collection of Terry Southern.
