The Beatles 1966 Yesterday & Today Butcher Cover Promo Poster. A genuine, original, printed-in-1966 Capitol Records in-store promotional poster for the Fab Four's Yesterday & Today album with its initial, ill-begotten "serious lapse in taste" butcher cover. Everyone knows this "Incredible!" poster; it's a true classic of 1960's pop-art. But it never, or barely, reached stores in the summer of '66, because the LP was withdrawn after just a day or two of release. Luckily all the posters weren't destroyed, so we have this magnificent pop artifact - and a pretty classic Beatles image and great songs on it, too. Some nice information is contained with this item's LOA, which is included in the lot. Measures 18" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. COAs from Rockaway Records and Heritage Auctions.

More Information: The poster was printed on glossy paper so a fair amount of handling and surface creasing is evident throughout, although nothing close to breaking color and mostly visible only when the poster is tilted at an angle to the light. There is also a very small tip of paper missing from the lower right corner, and a tiny 1/16" edge tear directly above "ED" in the top center.
