The Love Boat (ABC TV, 1977-1986), Gavin MacLeod "Captain Merrill Stubing" Formal Ensemble. Vintage original (2) piece formal suit consisting of (1) black double-breasted jacket with brass buttons, peak lapels, navy satin lining, and shoulder loops for epaulettes (not present), retaining internal bias label handwritten "G.M" in black felt tip and Davis Clothing Co. maker's label, and (1) pair of matching black suit pants with zipper and hook-and-eye closure. Accompanied by a white tuxedo dress shirt with pleated front and French cuffs, black clip-on bowtie, black dress shoes and a naval captain's hat for display purposes. Suit pieces exhibiting mild production age and wear, overall presenting well. Provenance: Originally acquired directly from Mr. MacLeod; Heritage Auctions, "The Comisar Collection", June 3, 2023, Lot #89564. Stewart took great pride in displaying his collection and had many custom-built mannequins in the likeness of the character made for his costumes. This lot includes one of those mannequins, which is in used and well-loved condition and will require special shipping. The option is yours if you would like to receive the mannequin.
