Batman Bat-Chute (Poynter Products, 1966). A true relic from the height of 1960s Bat-mania, this vintage Batman Bat-Chute captures the over-the-top fun and inventiveness of vintage superhero merchandising. Licensed and manufactured by Poynter Products in 1966 and marked by National Periodical Publications, Inc., the Bat-Chute was designed to mount onto the rear of a child's bicycle and deploy a bright nylon parachute with pre-attached cords, simulating the dramatic braking system seen on the rear of the 1966 Batmobile. The set includes a metal release mechanism with mounting brackets. The vintage collectible displays handling wear including surface scratching and scuffing wear throughout, with light edge wear from age and storage. A rare and wonderfully theatrical accessory, this Bat-Chute brings the thrill of Gotham's streets to the neighborhood sidewalk, capturing the imagination and creativity that defined a generation of Batman collectibles.
