Captain Kangaroo (CBS TV, 1955-1984), Bob Keeshan "Captain Kangaroo" Signature Uniform. Vintage original signature (3) piece uniform as worn by Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan) in the long-running, eponymous children's show, Captain Kangaroo. Includes (1) navy blue wool single-breasted jacket with notch lapels, 4- gold-colored front-closure anchor buttons, 2- oversized patch pockets with creme/silver piping, 1- 2.5" x 1.5" silver-colored "Constable" badge affixed to left breast pocket, and 1- pinkish white boutonniere to opposing lapel, (1) matching pair of navy wool suit pants matching piping down the outside of each leg and zipper and hook-and-eye front closure, and (1) navy blue fireman's cap hat constructed of cloth with a black peak and brass studs, leather hatband, and Florian-style recognizable metal cross pinned to front. Jacket retains interior Eaves Costume Company label handwritten,"R. Keeshan". Captain Kangaroo's signature navy blue uniform can be seen all through the series' first 17 seasons, and, coupled with the oversized pockets and Keeshan's affable demeanor, became synonymous with his character's image. Jacket and pants exhibit expected production age and wear including toning to the piping on both jacket and pants, while fireman's hat shows no signs of production wear. Items are accompanied by a pink Paul Stuart button up shirt, black knit tie, and brown belt for display purposes. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
