The Court Jester (Paramount, 1955), Danny Kaye "Hubert Hawkins" Group of Costumes. Vintage original (6) piece group of costume garments designed by iconic Hollywood costumer Edith Head including (1) black velvet jacket tunic with a gold and red diamond harlequin design and dagged open sleeves, gold-colored bells across the jacket and sleeves, a gold collar that has come undone, and a Western Costume Co. label typed "No. 93-2502-1. Name, Danny Kaye." Also including (3) cropped jackets with stretch knit bodices that were layered with only the sleeves displayed in the film: (1) is black silk with a stitched gold harlequin diamond design and small pearls and a Western Costume Co. label typed "No. 93-2684-4. Name, Danny Kaye," (1) is burnt orange velvet with brass-colored leaf decals and orange stones and a Western Costume Co. label typed "No. 93-2659-4. Name, Danny Kaye," (1) is a gold-colored knit made to look like chainmail with brass pyramid studs along the cuffs and a Western Costume Co. label "No. 93-2525-1. Name, Danny Kaye." Includes: (1) pair of gold-colored knit bibs with elastic at the waist that Kaye wore like overalls under the matching jacket and a Western Costume Co. label typed "No. 93-2520-1. Name, Danny Kaye," and (1) pair of black tights that have two ripped holes in the rear. Hubert Hawkins (Danny Kaye) wore each of these garments throughout the film while he attempted to infiltrate the Royal Court in Medieval England by disguising himself as their Court Jester. Each garment exhibits wear due to production and age. Some parts of the thinner fabrics are ripped and show staining or dirt.
