The War of the Worlds (Paramount, 1953), Folded One-Sheet Poster. Vintage original 27" x 41" one-sheet poster, folded. H.G. Wells' Martian invasion tale is one of the most influential works in the history of science fiction. The classic narrative of Earth's battle with Martians has been adapted several times over multiple forms of media, including a television series, a famous radio drama by Orson Welles, comic books, and motion pictures. Of all the film versions, it is director Byron Haskin's take that stands out. Featuring groundbreaking, Academy Award-winning special effects by George Pal, along with the acting talents of Gene Barry, Ann Robinson, and Les Tremayne, the film terrifies and thrills audiences of all ages - even today. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge and fold wear, creases, small tears, light toning, and light-colored painted writing on the verso, which does not appear to show through the front except at two tiny spots at extreme lower margin.
