Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) Blue Bird Dress Ensemble from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 1). Original (3) piece character ensemble including (1) green-blue kimono-style wrap-front dress with gold organza lining, bell sleeves, and delicate bird embroidery on the shoulders and center of the back accomplished with beads, threads, and feathers, (1) pink paper silk half-skirt with a gathered waistline, and (1) matching double lace-up corset with sewn-in stays and 2-embroidered birds. This signature costume is worn by Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) in Season 1, Episode 6, "A Golden Crown" when she argues with her brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in her bedchamber. For Cersei's Season 1 look, costume designer Michele Clapton chose the gown's colors to match Cersei's bedroom wallpaper and embroidered it with birds, reflecting her self-image as a "caged bird" and others' view of her as "part of the furnishings." Clapton explained that "Cersei's costumes express what her character cannot," using luxurious fabrics and intricate details to convey her inner turmoil and constrained position. Lena Headey echoed this sentiment, stating that "the costumes are an extension of Cersei's armor, reflecting her need to project strength and control even when she feels powerless." Exhibits production wear, and the half-skirt exhibits minor fraying to the seams and a 12" split near top. Comes with a COA from HBO and Heritage Auctions.
