Hellboy (Columbia, 2004), Drew Struzan Original Poster Concept Art. Original concept artwork by acclaimed artist Drew Struzan for Guillermo del Toro's 2004 superhero film Hellboy, featuring a solo Hellboy (Ron Perlman) with his signature "Samaritan" hand cannon and a statue of St. Michael the Archangel defeating a demon in the foreground. Though Struzan's designs were ultimately not used for the film's promotion, this striking image was later released as a limited edition poster and frequently resurfaces online, often in connection with news of upcoming Hellboy projects. Reflecting on the unused designs, del Toro lamented, "I think Drew is a genius. Such a shame the marketing departments have their own ideas." Mixed media on board, each measuring 20" x 30", with an illustration size of approximately 14" x 22". Signed and dated at lower left. Clear overlay originally attached with tape at bottom, which still adheres. Exhibits light handling. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the personal collection of Guillermo del Toro.
