Description

Star Wars Palitoy Lot (Palitoy, 1983). This Star Wars lot contains two vintage figures released by Palitoy in 1983, alongside the saga's third film, Return of the Jedi. Palitoy played a crucial role in launching the Star Wars toy line in the UK after the movie's blockbuster release. From 1977 to the 1980s, they produced and distributed a range of action figures and playsets under a licensing agreement with Kenner, the original US rights holder. These products featured distinct packaging and design variations. Unique to Palitoy were the different card backs and occasionally exclusive figures or accessories, setting them apart from their American counterparts. The collection includes Klaatu and Admiral Ackbar, each sealed on Palitoy ROTJ 65 Back B cards with the free Nien Nunb figure promotion, each displaying various degrees of handling wear.

Klaatu: The partially unpunched card displays handling wear along the edges and corners, with bending in each corner, creasing in the lower left and surface wear and surface tearing in the upper corners. There is extensive creasing that runs across the card from the upper left to the lower right corner, with additional wear around the hanger. The bubble shows scratching and scuffing wear throughout. On the back, there is additional edge and corner wear with scuffing in the lower center of the card and additional wear around the hanger.

Admiral Ackbar: The card displays handling wear along the edges and corners, with bends in all four corners and a notable crease in the top right that runs through the ROTJ nameplate. Surface tearing is present in the upper right corner, along with additional creasing on the center left edge and above the hanger. A dent is also visible in the upper left corner. The bubble has a dent in its upper left and shows consistent scratching and scuffing throughout. On the back, the upper right corner exhibits heavy bending, with additional scuffing and wear along both the top and bottom edges. Stress marks and creasing from the bubble attachment are also evident along the right side.
