Captain Action Inter-Galactic Jet Mortar (Ideal, 1967). Blasting in from the atomic-age imagination of the 1960s, this Captain Action Inter-Galactic Jet Mortar set brings vintage firepower to the frontlines of collectible history. Released by Ideal in 1967, this dynamic accessory set was designed for cosmic combat, featuring a shoulder Action-Matic Blaster that really fires, a field-ready blaster tripod, a radar scanner, an ammunition carrier, and nuclear warhead missiles-everything a space-faring hero could need. The set remains secure in its original packaging, previously opened but retaining unused contents with all components still attached to the inner tray. The box shows signs of handling wear, including whitening and creasing along the corners, bends and dents on several panels, and surface tearing along the top back and left side. The cellophane window exhibits scuffing and scratching throughout and has come loose along the bottom edge. Notably, the tear in the lower right corner has been re-glued. Despite its age and wear, this rare set remains a bold testament to the imaginative spirit of 1960s toy design.
