Description
A Gift From Graham Nash to Comedy Legend, Phil Hartman
Graham Nash's 1988 Martin D-35 Natural Acoustic Guitar Gifted to
Phil Hartman.Long before he made millions of people laugh with his impersonations of Frank Sinatra and Bill Clinton on Saturday Night Live, the voice of Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure on The Simpsons, and star of various movie and live-action TV comedies, Phil Hartman designed band logos and album sleeves (including America and Poco). As the creator of the iconic Crosby, Stills & Nash logo, it makes perfect sense that Graham Nash gifted this acoustic to the man born Phil Hartmann. A signed letter from Graham Nash states ownership and use of the 1988 Martin D-35 P acoustic guitar, serial # 479147. " I used it for songwriting, recording and on stage."
The P designation on the neck block has been used by the Martin Company to designate special features such as a low profile neck shape or professional artist neck shape. This guitar has its original finish with moderate nicks, dings and weather checking. All common to professional use. The curled "potato chip" pickguard has been professionally replaced. One 2" tight back crack. Minor loose binding at the waist on the back. Minor tight crack between tuner on the bass side. A very nice example of a Graham Nash owned and played guitar. Original hard case included. Condition: Very Good.
