Batman 1966 McLean's Tooth Paste Batman Card Game - Complete 40 card set .
A colorful, TV-era promotional card game featuring Batman, Robin, and seven marquee villains. The core run is 35 numbered game cards arranged as seven villain mini-sets-each villain group has a "Crime Card" followed by four scene cards (5 per villain): Catwoman, False Face, The Joker, Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, The Penguin, and The Riddler.
The promotion is best documented as a 36-card issue (the 35 numbered cards plus one unnumbered "WHAM! POW! BANG!" effects card). Cards were a Macleans toothpaste premium and share art/design with the contemporary Australian Weeties/Rice Krinkles giveaways.
Collectors sometimes encounter or assemble a "40-card set" by adding the separate instruction card and four sound-effect cards (variants of the WHAM/POW/BANG design).
