A Clockwork Orange Rare Proof Sweater. This blue and orange original designer's proof sweater (size small, 35" chest) was made in the UK in 1972 by Mike Ross (aka "The Ritva Man") exclusively for filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, to commemorate the film. The sweater is #1 of a proof set of only three sweaters created by and for Ross, husband of designer Ritva for whom the high-profile Ritva knitwear business was named. The sweaters were meant only for key cast and crew members, and it is likely only a few of the final product were ever made. The sweater has an applique featuring Malcolm McDowell as Alex DeLarge on the front; droog eyeball patches on the sleeves; and a Ritva tag, an embroidered number 1, and a handwritten tag reading "Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick, Hawk Films, designers proof, 1/3, Edition of 30, 1972 MR" on the collar. A very rare item, in Excellent condition.
