Beatles Meet the Beatles! Stereo LP Signed at the Deauville Hotel in Miami, the Day Before Their Second Ed Sullivan Show Appearance (Capitol ST 2047, 1964). This is a beautiful example of the first Beatles album to be released on Capitol Records, and it's an uncommon stereo version at that. It bears the blue ink signatures of the "Fab Four" on the back cover above the photo: "Paul McCartney", "George Harrison", "John Lennon", and "Ringo Starr". You could hardly hope for a stronger set of autographs; these are gorgeous. Also on the back, at top left, is a typed label stating the date and place of the signing: "The Beatles/ Deauville Hotel- Miami/ Feb. -15th- 1964". It would be hard to imagine a more desirable signed album for an American fan that remembers what all happened fifty years ago. Original pressing record and inner sleeve included. Cover graded a strong EX 7 and the record a VG-EX 6.

What a whirlwind week it had been for the young lads from Liverpool. They left London for America on February 7, scared that they may not be well-received. The thousands of screaming fans at JFK Airport allayed those fears pretty quickly. On Sunday, February 9, the Beatles appeared live from New York on the popular Ed Sullivan Show, watched by 73 million people. The next day, February 11, a press conference was held at their hotel where they were awarded a gold record for this very album. February 12 found them on a train to Washington, D.C. and their first live concert in America. It was right back to New York and two concerts at Carnegie Hall the very next night. Finally, they would get a little rest when they headed to Miami on February 13 (met by 7,000 teens at the airport). Their second Sullivan performance would be live from the Deauville Hotel in Miami on February 16. That is where this particular album was signed on February 15 as they prepared for that Sunday night performance (watched by seventy million this time). Coincidentally, February 15, 1964, was the exact day that Meet the Beatles! reached Number One on the Billboard album chart, the position where it would stay for eleven weeks. What replaced it at the top of the album charts? Well, The Beatles Second Album, of course.

The Beatles didn't know if they would have any effect on American music. Not only did they turn that upside down forever, but all aspects of Pop Culture were permanently affected as well.
