Creedence Clearwater Revival 1972 Miami, FL Concert Poster. An original cardstock window card advertising Creedence Clearwater Revival playing at the Sporitorium in Miami, Florida on April 21, 1972. Tony Joe White and Freddie King were the support acts.

This was Creedence as a trio, with John Fogerty's brother, Tom Fogerty, now departed from the band. Besides John at top center, also pictured are bassist Stu Cook on the left and drummer Doug Clifford on the right. For good measure, designer "D. Grace" also threw in a man in a spacesuit (right below Fogerty) and a picture of a girl with a tambourine.

CCR was done with Top 10 hits by now, with "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" being their last the summer before. They were touring in support of their new album Mardi Gras, just out this month, their only studio LP done without Tom, and the one in which John Fogerty let the other two musicians handle some songwriting and singing, with mixed results (to put it kindly). Still, the shows were packed with CCR's huge hits from the last few years.

Singer-songwriter Tony Joe White had already enjoyed the one big hit in his career, "Polk Salad Annie," a Top 10 record in 1969 and one which Elvis Presley had covered. White also wrote the standard "Rainy Night in Georgia," a big hit for Brook Benton in 1970.

Freddie King is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (inducted by ZZ Top in 2012) and the Blues Hall of Fame. 1972 was the year he released his well-loved album Texas Cannonball on Leon Russell's Shelter Records label.

Printed by Tea Lautrec printers in San Francisco, the poster measures 18" x 28 7/8" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. Corners a tiny bit rounded but no pinholes. Very slight amount of surface handling to the glossy poster. A few spots of very mild, super-light foxing down in the venue box. On the verso, small squares of stickum residue at top center and the upper right, lower left and lower right corners. It's rough to the touch, but not sticky. General light toning.
