Description

KISS Eric Carr Stage Played Ludwig Chrome Drum Kit for Animalize Tour (1984). Original custom-built, chrome-wrapped Ludwig drum kit used on stage by Eric Carr on the North American run behind KISS' hit 1984 album, Animalize. Kit comprised of four 24" kick drums, each featuring a label on the inner shell bearing the KISS logo and inventory barcode, two with black KISS logo reso heads; One 20" floor tom; one 18" floor tom; seven mounting toms ranging from 6" to 16"; and seven roto toms measuring from 6" to 12". Then-unknown Eric Carr, born Paul Charles Caravello, replaced original drummer Peter Criss in 1980, manning the drum kit until his untimely death in 1991. A fan favorite and a powerhouse musician, he was known for his large drum sets, this beautiful chrome-wrapped kit being a perfect example. Previously sold in the legendary 2000 KISS auction held by Butterfield's, Heritage is proud to now offer this exciting piece of KISStory. Most drums include Remo heads, each showing considerable play wear. Kick drums have no batter heads, while one features a blank black reso head, and the fourth includes no heads. Hardware consisting of five stands for mounting toms, eight tom legs, and kick drum feet - no snare drum, throne, cymbals, pedals, or cymbal stands included. Exhibits expected heavy wear and tear due to stage play, travel, and storage - and of course, rock n' roll, though outer wraps remain gleaming. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
