The Cotton Club (Orion, 1984), Production Archive, Final Script, and Promotional Material. Original archive encompassing pre- and post-production for Francis Ford Coppola's musical crime drama The Cotton Club, including (1) 8" x 6.5" x 1" behind-the-scenes memory book with 24-photographs from actress Lisa Persky taken on Nikon F and AF, (1) press release packet with 18-set stills from production, (1) 61" x 47" Poster for The Cotton Club featuring characters in black and white over a silver background, (1) 110-page (as paginated) final draft dated December 8, 1983, with continuity pages to back and sticky note reading "Fred's pers. copy", and (1) extensive production archive containing handwritten cast lists, music research, daily production reports, screen credits, handwritten notes for scene continuity, correspondence, and additional personal documents relating to production. The Cotton Club follows the travails of Dixies Dwyer (Richard Gere), a cornet player navigating the criminal underworld in Harlem and was noted for its troubled production including Coppola walking off set. Items exhibiting production age and wear, with evidence of stains and soiling to production documents, tears and edgewear. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
