Zulu Dawn (Lamitas, 1979), Burt Lancaster "Col. Durnford" Military Coat. Original double-breasted uniform coat constructed from dark blue and black wool, with short-standing velvet collar featuring gold-toned resin military pins, grosgrain trim, thick black braided epaulets, discreet slit on left breast for hand placement, and decorative black trim on the sleeve cuffs. Lined in satin with the inside breast including South African costumier label reading, "Lerwill, Pope & Wills / (PTY) LTD) / Mutual Arcade Durban", with handwritten "(W) 4729, B. Lancaster, 17-5-78" bias label. Worn by Colonel Durnford (Burt Lancaster) during the gala scene prior to Zulu Dawn's final battle. There are known behind the scenes images of Lancaster and O'Toole sat together wearing the uniforms, two titans of 20th century Hollywood side-by-side for their only shared film appearance. Exhibits light production wear consistent with age and use, very light staining or wear including to the collar, hem, and back, surface wear to the resin buttons. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
