Star Trek: The Next Generation (Paramount, 1987-1994), Rick Sternbach Original Concept Artwork for USS Enterprise Sick Bay and Medical Tech. Original group of (12) concept artworks by Rick Sternbach for design of the USS Enterprise Sick Bay, including (9) on 17" x 11" artist's leaf and (3) on 8.5" x 11" leaf, with an array of detailed designs for a Hospital Bed Restraint Scanner, Portable Medical Monitor, Virus Containment Device, Sick Bay Intensive Care Unit, Medical Scanner/Visor, and Portable Medical Monitor, among several others. Designs are labeled with corresponding identification, including several with episode references including Season 2, Episode 1, "The Child". Accomplished with black and multi-colored felt-tip, ink, and computer-generated design elements. All signed by the artist on the lower corner with majority dated ranging from 1987 to 1990. The earliest dated designs offered here indicate Sternbach's involvement at the earliest stages of production of the new series, for which he was selected to redesign and update the Star Trek universe. Items exhibiting signs of handling and age, including bumped and curled corners, foxing, mild edgewear, and white-out marks from artist's editing process. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
