Vintage original Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award nomination plaque for Best Screenplay, presented to Frank S. Nugent for his work on The Quiet Man (Republic, 1952). Certificate includes a gold seal and ribbon on the lower left corner and is laminated on a 12" x 13.5" wooden perma-plaque with gold-colored border. Nugent would not win the award for Best Screenplay for The Quiet Man, a movie about disgraced boxer Sean Thornton (John Wayne) who, after killing a man in the ring, returns to Ireland where he falls in love with the passionate Mary Kate (Maureen O'Hara). Exhibits expected age and wear, with light scratches, dirt stains, and small dents to frame. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
