The Crowd Roars (Warner Bros., 1932), Original Typed Carbon Treatment. Vintage original 12-page (as paginated) treatment by Howard Hawks for a project called "The Roar of the Crowd", on typed carbon tissue vellum paper, bradded in blue studio wraps, and dated "10/16/31" with "Important! Return Story Dept" stamp on the cover. The treatment enclosed here would become Hawks' 1932 pre-Code film, The Crowd Roars, starring James Cagney, following the fraught dynamics of motor racing brothers Joe (Cagney) and Eddie Greer (Eric Linden). Exhibits signs of handling and wear commensurate with paper materials of this age, including chips, bumps, stains, crease wear, surface loss, and edgewear to the cover wraps. The interior pages exhibit some chips and bumped corners while remaining largely unblemished. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
