Description

The Jimi Hendrix Experience 1969 "Newport 69" Concert Poster. An original full-sized, colorful concert poster for a three-day music festival called "Newport 69 at Devonshire Downs" in the San Fernando Valley portion of Los Angeles, taking place the weekend of June 20-22, 1969. "The Downs" was a horse-racing track and multipurpose event facility in Northridge, CA, owned by the adjacent San Fernando Valley State College.

Jimi, Mitch and Noel played on stage both Friday and Sunday, and Jimi's likeness dominates the attractive watercolor artwork that adorns this poster. In all, 31 acts are listed, many of them hit-makers or FM-radio favorites of the late Sixties. An estimated 200,000 fans attended the three-day event, easily the largest pop-concert gathering up to that time. Measures 24" x 36" and grades to Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Has a bit of handling wear and light creasing
