Description
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre VHS 1981 - Used/Ungraded - First Release, Wizard Video.
"HE'S WEARING HER FACE!!!" Introducing the Unholy Grail of the film
industry, the 1974, ripping, gruesome, hit directed by Tope Hooper.
Who could have imagined a small, independent, student film with a
$140,000 budget would explode into a $30,000,000+ blockbuster?!
This was unheard of for a movie of this genre at this time.
From horrendous off screen work conditions, to terrifying, bloody
cannibalism on screen, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a ground
breaking Film that redefined the entire horror genre and is still
living on today, most recently with a new Netflix reboot.
But it's not just the movie that's special, it's the tape. This
extremely rare, and coveted title launched Wizard Video. After the
prior owner of Meda (aka Media) was forced out of his position,
Charles Band, a pioneer of home video and media, was looked at as
crazy for buying old movie rights for hits for as much as $5000.
Wow, did he prove people wrong. His seemingly simple idea, helped
define a whole new era of media and at home entertainment as we
know it - even releasing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween
video game on the Atari 2600 Video Game System.
The box condition of this tape presents beautifully and is in fine
condition - which is high grade for this extremely rare and low
print run, first release grail! No mold, tape in pristine
condition! A must have addition to any horror collection!
"So you guys are what? Like, a cult?".... Absolutely! A cult,
timeless classic!
Please note: this VHS is being sold as-is. The tape is mold free and has not been tested other than to confirm that the correct film is on the tape. No guarantees pertaining to the quality of the picture contained on the tape are being asserted
