Near Dark VHS 1987 - IGS Box 8 NM and Seal 8.5 MINT, Front HBO Video Watermarks, HBO Video. Kathryn Bigelow's 1987 southwestern vampire masterpiece, Near Dark, centers on a small-town farm boy who inadvertently falls in with a band of nomadic vampires. Bigelow's take on vampires jettisons quaffed counts and castles and portrays them as dirty and dangerous predators who do what they must to get by. The result is a blood-soaked masterpiece with wonderful direction, writing and performances by all involved.
