Description

Jean Simmons "Varinia" dress from Spartacus. (Universal, 1960) Vintage original pale blue crepe gown with decorative bugle beads and faux opal starburst design, gathered straps with snap and hook closures at shoulders and with plunging neckline. The empire waist of dress features integral decorative self-belt, ornamented with gold metal filigreed scroll pieces and beads, culminating in a figural face medallion at center. Bodice lined in nude mesh with some corset reinforcement. Retaining the internal Universal International bias label handwritten, "#1 Jean Simmons". Exhibiting age, wear, fading some soiling and deterioration. In vintage good condition.
