Original matte paintings (6) of marquees of stage acts for scenes from various MGM films. (MGM, 1942-1951) Vintage (4) black and white and (2) color matte paintings accomplished in pencil, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. black artist boards. Depicting various scenes of theater marquees for stage acts including: (1) Thousands Cheer (1943), (1) Masie Was a Lady (1943), (1) The People Against O'Hara (1951), (1) Ship Ahoy (1942) and (2) Unidentified. 4-paintings feature meticulous pinholes made in the marquees so that when the painting is illuminated from behind they appear as lights. Some paintings with scenic and tech notes in margins and some with spaces blacked-out for keying in of live-action. All exhibiting minor signs of production-use and age. All in vintage, very good condition.
