Description

Star Wars Droids Kez-Iban Original Line Art by Alice Carter (Kenner, 1985). Debuting in 1985, the Droids cartoon series brought the Star Wars universe to Saturday morning television, introducing fresh characters and new adventures beyond the original trilogy. To accompany the animated adventure, Kenner released a dedicated Droids action figure line, featuring characters from the show. Among them was Kez-Iban, whose packaging art captured the bold, comic book-inspired aesthetic that defined the series. This original line art, used for Kez-Iban's blister card, showcases a dramatic scene of Kez-Iban and Uncle Gundy trapped in a collapsing space cave, emphasizing the action-driven storytelling of the Droids universe.

Drawn on an illustration board measuring approximately 13.5 inches by 12.375 inches, with a protective window overlay measuring 14.5 inches by 13.5 inches, this production piece bears the hallmarks of its use, including white-out, staining, and scuffing along the right side. Notably, the back upper right corner features a "Studio of Alice Carter" sticker, signed by Alice Carter, further cementing its authenticity and connection to the original production process. As one of the few surviving Droids packaging illustrations, this artwork represents a rare and significant piece of Star Wars toy history. A prized addition to any collection, it safeguards the legacy of Kenner's Droids line and the distinctive visual style that set it apart in Star Wars merchandising.
