Cecil B. DeMille Group of (4) Humanitarian Awards. Vintage group of (4) humanitarian awards presented to DeMille including (1) "National Award for Significant Contribution to Human Progress Under the American Free Enterprise System" bronze medal presented in clear epoxy measuring 4" x 4" x 1", (1) "Annual Freedom Award" plated brass badge measuring approx. 2.5" x 1.5", and (2) "Freedom Foundation" bronze medals presented in clear epoxy and measuring 6" x 6" x 1.25". The "Human Progress" award was presented to DeMille in 1957 by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States Washington, D.C. Award retains its original leather bound box (5.5" x 5.5" x 1.75") monogrammed in gold lettering with DeMille's name. It came a year after his most successful film, The Ten Commandments (1956) brought him international recognition. DeMille won the Freedom Foundation awards in both 1953 and 1957 for "Outstanding Achievement in Bringing About A Better Understanding of the American Way of Life". The awards exhibit minor storage wear. Badge exhibits scuffing and corrosion. The leather box exhibits tearing and deterioration on the hinge, corner, and edges and is missing the lock snap. The 1953 medal exhibits heavy cracking on the back and sides of the epoxy casing. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
