Description

Casper (Universal, 1995), "Fatso" Production Maquette. Original model of Fatso, the ghost, constructed from silicone over a metal armature. Various dimensions are inscribed in ink across its surface, including around the stomach, face, and arms. Visible seams run down the sides of the figure, suggesting that two molds were employed in its construction. This was a preparatory step in the production process before the ghost was digitally animated. Measures approx. 17" in length and 30.5" in circumference. Fatso (voiced by Brad Garrett) is one third of the "Ghostly Trio" who are the uncles and adversaries of Casper (Devon Sawa), the friendly ghost. Displays wear due to production and age. The surface of the silicon has discolored and deteriorated with areas that are sticky. There are two holes at the bottom of the model that were used to stand it upright.
