Cecil B. DeMille Collection of Vintage Fabric Rolls and Remnants/Ends from Samson and Delilah, The Ten Commandments, and Various Productions. Vintage collection of fabric rolls and folded remnants/ends from various classic DeMille productions including Samson and Delilah (1949), and The Ten Commandments (1956). This incredible lot features (7) dowels with rolled fabric containing widths from 26" to 54" and (5) folded remnants/ends containing widths from 22" to 37". Each vintage fabric roll remains on original dowel, some in original studio storage packaging with production notes (which may not accurately describe the contents). The material is unmeasured, but each dowel contains several yards of fabric. Fabric dowels include (1) bolt of black chiffon with intricate brocade embroidery, (1) bolt of blue jacquard fabric, (1) bolt of silver metal cloth, (1) bolt of black and silver metal cloth, (1) bolt of blue and gold jacquard fabric, (1) bolt of gold metallic fabric, and (1) bolt of petunia gold silk blend fabric. The folded remnants/ends include (1) black wool blend fabric, (1) white stretch mesh with metallic pattern, (1) gold brocade with animal border, and (1) gold and black paisley jacquard (containing several yards). These vintage fabrics were used by DeMille creatives to design costumes for some of his most iconic films. Kept in safe, secure storage, the material remains in superior condition with vibrant colors and tightly woven fabrics. Some pieces exhibit creasing and loose end threads from cutting.
