Description
Beetlejuice (Warner Bros., 1988), Carmen Filpi "Social Services Messenger" Display Figure. Original mixed media flattened figure affixed to a red velvet display platform that is "hanging" by his elbows from a metal hanger. Instantly recognizable "flattened" businessman figure constructed of latex and rubber over support armature, outfitted in a tattered black suit, tie, and 1-shoe. Expertly painted and finished with details including tire tread across body, with bones and ligaments visible through his suit. Crafted by Robert Short, an Academy Award-winning makeup artist, for Planet Hollywood, this piece was detailed using the original production molds from the film. Short's work in the movie earned him an Academy Award for Best Makeup. The figure is displayed on a velvet platform measuring approx. 80" x 36", while the figure itself is approx. 64" x 28". The Social Services Messenger (Carmen Filpi) guides the Maitlands (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) to meet their case worker when they first navigate the afterlife. Displays minimal wear or age. Special shipping arrangements will apply. Obtained from Robert Short.
