Description

Ghostbusters (Columbia, 1984), "Slimer" Concept Maquette. Original handmade maquette of arguably the most recognizable and beloved apparitions from the Ghostbuster's franchise. Created from foam latex with resin teeth and eyes, this maquette has been expertly painted and detailed in order to help visualize the life-size puppet used for the film. Measures approx. 10.5" x 9" x 8". Famously inspired by John Belushi's Animal House character "Bluto", the glowing green ghoul was designed by special effects artist, Steve Johnson, and known on set as "Onion Head" during its debut appearance in the 1984 comedy classic. It wasn't until 1986 that it was dubbed "Slimer" in The Real Ghostbusters animated series. Displays general age and wear typical of foam latex with damage and separation to the left wrist. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
